Doctor

  • Dr. Tedd A Hamaker


    Dr. Tedd Hamaker is a 1989 graduate from The University of Missouri-Columbia College of Veterinary Medicine.   He obtained his undergraduate degree in biology from The Colorado College.  After working in a multi-doctor practice in Atlanta for two years, Dr. Hamaker purchased Springfield Veterinary Hospital in 1991.  He immediately fell in love with the history of the building and has restored the building to it's original glory while improving the working areas of the hospital.  He takes great pleasure of serving his clientele and their pets.

    In April of 2008 Dr. Hamaker opened Galloway Village Veterinary, a beautiful and modern veterinary facility in historic Galloway Village.


    Dr. Hamaker is married to Crista Hogan and shares his three children, Joe (14), Lena (11) and Daniel, (7) with Crista's Rebecca, Claude and Theo. 


    In his spare time he enjoys community service, the great outdoors and athletics.

  • Molly Ramsey


    Dr. Molly Ramsey is a 2006 graduate of the University of Missouri-College of Veterinary Medicine.  She is originally from St. Louis, but moved to Springfield after graduating to be closer to her family and the lakes.  Dr. Ramsey started her career with Galloway Village Veterinary when the new building opened in April of 2008. 


    Her main interests in veterinary medicine are preventative health, pain management and denistry.


    Dr. Ramsey is married to John Durham and they share their home with two dogs and a cat.  Away from the office she enjoys spending time on the lake, biking or walking on the greenways in Springfield, and playing with the dogs in the backyard.

  • Dr. Shelia Taylor


    Dr. Shelia Livingston Taylor is a 1992 graduate of University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine. She has worked primarily in small animal practices in and around the Springfield, Missouri area since graduation. Currently, Dr. Taylor teaches full time at Ozarks Technical Community College in the Biology department and practices relief veterinary medicine on many weekends and during the summer. This allows the full time veterinarian time off to spend with family. Dr. Taylor has been working with Springfield Veterinary Hospital and now Galloway Village Veterinary for several years and plans to continue for the foreseeable future. She enjoys her mixed breed dog, "Otcee", (who was found on the OTC campus) and spending time with her family in her rare time off. Her husband, Jack, has even posted a web site for "Otcee" at http://acm.smsu.edu/~jacktaylor/dog/index.html and they would both love for you to visit "Otcee's" homepage at any time. Dr. Taylor also enjoys reading of all kinds of material, science fiction, cooking, and being outside in the country enjoying nature's bounty.


Technician

  • Beth Carey


    Beth has been the head technician with Galloway Village Veterinary for the past 10 years. Beth has been vital to the high quality of care provided to the pets. She has taken the initiative to learn many new technical skills that have enabled the hospital to take our care to the next level. "I love working with all the pets," Beth says, "I have come to know many of our patients so well that I think of them as part of my family." Beth takes pride in the fact that many pets are eager to visit the hospital, because she knows that they are happy to see her.

    Beth spends her free time hanging out and playing her guitar for her cat "Loki Boone," and her three dogs "Mariah," "Luigi" and "Odin". You very well could see her biking her way to work. As well as biking, Beth enjoys playing hockey, rugby, etc. She and her partner enjoy camping, floating , playing music , and going out dancing downtown. As well as working with animals, Beth is also a licensed Realtor in the state of Missouri.

  • Lindy Yarbrough


    Lindy has been working as a veterinary technician for three years.  Her own pets include her Lab mix Tanner, her cat Steve, and her 2  pet rats. Her hobbies when she’s not working at the hospital are camping, fishing and bowling.  Vetsuite_Img_44795

  • Stephanie Anderson


    Stephanie has over two and a half years experience as a veterinary technician. Stephanie joined Galloway Village Veterinary in the Spring of 2009.  She has been married over nine years and has two children. (Blake and Jade)  Her family also includes three dogs named "Maci", "Ariel" and "Lindsay", as well as  a cat named "Oscar".  When not working she spends most of her time with her family.  Stephanie also enjoys the outdoors.Vetsuite_Img_74328

Reception

  • Korie Custer


    Korie has been employed at Springfield Veterinary Hospital, and now Galloway Village Veterinary for more than ten years as the head client service representative. She took a year off when she had her son, but decided to come back part time. "I'm so glad I did," Korie says, "because I love working here and being a part of this team." She first started working here as a technician and grooming assistant, but through strong initiative, curiosity, and a desire to improve her skills, has become extremely proficient in the exam room, the laboratory, and the surgical suite.

    Korie has been married for nine years and has a wonderful 8 year old son (just ask her!). She also includes three cats and two dogs in her family. In her spare time Korie loves to spend time with her husband and son. She also helped start and belongs to a group called Mommies and Kiddos. "I like to do anything outdoors (camping, floating, hiking, etc.) or just being at the park with my son." Other hobbies include watching football, bowling, scrapbooking and sewing.

  • Michele Roam


    Michele started as a receptionist at Galloway Village Veterinary in June of 2009.  She is originally from the Lake of the Ozarks area but decided to stay in Springfield after graduating from Drury University in 2006.  Michele's family has always had pets and she developed a love for animals at an early age.  One of her most beloved childhood momories includes riding her huge Newfoundland Otis like he was a horse.  Michele's favorite thing about working at Galloway Village Veterinary is seeing the joy on the owner's faces when they talk about their pets and knowing that she helps keep them healthy and happy.  She started out as a client here in the Spring of 2008 and now has the pleasure of working in the place where she has always loved to bring her dog Reilly, a rambuncious golden retriever who is the light of her life.  When Michele is not at work she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, taking Reilly for walks on the Sequiota trail, and curling up with a good book.

  • Amy Hale


    Amy joined our team at Galloway Village Veterinary in January 2010 after recently moving to the Springfield area from Kansas City, Kansas. Amy has  5 years of experience working with animals, she says "my favorite part of working in a veterinary clinic is being able to meet new people and their pets." Amy is a proud owner of spoiled rotten Yorkie named "Finola", a black lab named "Bear"  and two English Pointers "Gracie" and "Gunner".  Her pet family also includes a yellow parakeet named "Tuesday" and a snail by the name of "Joey".   During Amy's free time she enjoys spending it with her family and friends or reading a good book.Vetsuite_Img_89788

Kennel

  • Taryn Smith


    Taryn joined our staff at Galloway Village Veterinary through an intern program during her senior year of high school.  Taryn has been working hard this summer taking care of all the pets that are staying in our boarding facility. "I love seeing all the dogs have so much fun in the play area."  Taryn recently adopted a Golden Retriever mix named "Halo", who has become very good friends with her cat "Boo".  When Taryn is not out walking "Halo" she spends most of her time hanging out with her family and friends.  She also loves running and reading.  Taryn will be attending MSU in the Fall, majoring in biology and plans on becoming a veterinarian.Vetsuite_Img_73603

    Stacey is a 2008 graduate of Missouri State with a degree in Marketing and Sales.  She joined Galloway Village Veterinary in August of 2009 to pursue an interest in veterinary medicine.  She has a dog named Ellie, a 3 year old lab.  She enjoys spending time at the lake, being outside and floating on the river.
